GTA VI is shceduled to launch in November.

EXCITEMENT surrounding what is widely regarded as the most anticipated video game of all time has been ramping up as its release date draws closer…

Rockstar Games’ latest addition to the popular Grand Theft Auto franchise is set to launch on 19 November.

Previously scheduled to come out towards the end of last year, fans have been eagerly awaiting the release of Grand Theft Auto VI since it was announced in 2023.

Industry speculation has suggested the title had a development budget of around $2 billion, though Rockstar has not disclosed an official figure.

The pre-order window opened last week.

Speaking to the JEP on Friday, Chaos game store owner Christian Le Cornu said: “It is going to be the best selling game ever.”

“We’ve been registering interest for a while, but officially yesterday was the first day of technical pre-orders.”

He noted the popularity of the previous instalment, GTA V, which came out over a decade ago and has since been reissued across multiple generations of video game consoles.

“Everyone is eagerly anticipating the release [of GTA VI].”

Mr Le Cornu also said that there had been “pretty much constant interest since it was first announced years and years ago”.

“Occasionally we get people coming in, the regulars, [asking] ‘any update on Grand Theft Auto’, bearing in mind it was supposed to be out last year.

“We know its coming now.”
