JERSEY has claimed six of the top ten places in a new ranking of the Channel Islands’ most picturesque beaches – as ferry bookings to the Island continue to rise.
St Brelade’s Bay was named the top beach in the Channel Islands in research commissioned by ferry operator DFDS, which analysed the language used in Google reviews.
Plémont came second, while Beauport Beach and Portelet Bay shared fourth place. Grève de Lecq and St Ouen’s Bay also featured in the top ten.
Guernsey’s Petit Bot Bay ranked third, while Shell Beach in Herm was eighth.
The study measured how often reviewers used positive terms including “beautiful”, “stunning”, “picturesque” and “tranquil”, standardised per 100 reviews.
St Brelade’s Bay recorded 130 positive keywords per 100 reviews, ahead of Plémont on 110 and Guernsey’s Petit Bot on 93.
The ranking comes as DFDS said passenger numbers to and from Jersey were 20% higher in May than in the same month last year.
Bookings for travel between June and September were also 25% ahead of where they were at the same point in 2025, the company said.

Chris Parker, DFDS Route Director for Jersey, said: “Jersey’s strong showing in the rankings reflects what we are seeing from customers.
“Demand for travel to the Island continues to grow, with passenger bookings running significantly ahead of last year.
“Visitors are increasingly looking for destinations that combine outstanding beaches, great food, outdoor activities and easy accessibility, and Jersey offers all of those in abundance.”
The company also said UK Google searches for “Jersey holiday” had risen by 21% over the past year.
