WALK-IN vaccination clinics will allow Islanders heading to university this year to be protected against meningitis B.
The clinics were confirmed in Jersey after the UK announced an emergency vaccination programme following the country’s largest-ever outbreak of the disease.
A sixth-form pupil and a university student died during an outbreak in Kent earlier this year, with a higher-than-usual number of clusters of the disease across England in 2026.
Jersey vaccinations will take place at the Town Church throughout July and August, with both daytime and evening sessions available. No appointment is required.
The programme is aimed at Year 13 students, or those of an equivalent age born between 1 September 2007 and 31 August 2008, as well as young people under the age of 25 who are entering university or residential further education for the first time.
Full details of clinic dates and times are available online at gov.je/meningitis.
