ISLANDERS are being invited to find out more about motor neurone disease and the support available in Jersey at a special awareness event this weekend.
Volunteers from the charity will be at the Radisson Hotel from 11am to 3pm on Saturday, ahead of National MND Awareness Day on Sunday.
Don Connolly, chairman of MND Association Jersey, said the event aimed to increase people’s understanding of the disease and highlight the support available to those affected.
He said that the charity is currently supporting 11 Islanders and their families, adding that donations raised in Jersey enable it to provide practical help and specialist equipment quickly when needed.
Mr Connolly said: “We encourage members of the public to visit us, meet the committee, learn more about our work, and help us raise awareness of this devastating condition.
“With MND, every day matters, and we are here to help.”
He also thanked the Radisson for providing a central venue for the event and for choosing MND Association Jersey as its charity partner for 2026.
Members of the public are invited to attend the event, which will be held in the hotel’s ground-floor reception area.
