AN Islander recently caught the “fish of a lifetime” while on a fishing trip in Norway – where he reeled in a halibut with an estimated weight of over 400lb.

Adrian Le Heuze said it was an “incredibly magical moment” when the halibut emerged from the water and “just as rewarding seeing it being released” once the celebrations and picture-taking had concluded.

He added: “We estimate the fish from charts to be around 400lb plus and measuring 228cm. It’s a fish of a lifetime and I doubt I will ever see anything as big as this fish ever again.”
