A ST Helier pizza restaurant owner – who is standing in this year’s election – failed to appear in the Petty Debts Court this week as a judgment was handed down over an unpaid loan.
Court documents show that judgment was entered against Hot Stuff Pizza Limited and its owner Alvin Aaron in the Civil Claims Division on Wednesday 13 May.
The claim was brought by Cashback Limited following an assignment from Close Finance (C.I.) Limited.
According to the order, the court directed the defendants to pay £1,904.67 in relation to a personal loan agreement dated 10 February 2022, which the court said had been “personally guaranteed” by Mr Aaron.
The court also ordered contractual interest on the outstanding balance, fixed costs, and interest on those costs.
In addition, the plaintiff was authorised to have the defendants’ personal property “arrested and sold” and for Mr Aaron’s wages to be “arrested at the standard rate of £80 per week”.
Mr Aaron is contesting the seat of Constable of St Helier in the June 2026 election.
