ISLANDERS are being invited to view the updated proposals for the government’s planned transformation of Fort Regent being driven forward by the Jersey Development Company.

A presentation is due to be held at the Pomme d’Or Hotel on 14 April at 5.30pm, where Infrastructure Minister Andy Jehan and JDC chief executive Lee Henry will outline how the scheme has evolved in the wake of public feedback and explain the rationale behind key design decisions.

Islanders can register their attendance via the Eventbrite website.

There will also be a drop‑in exhibition at the St Helier Town Hall on 16 April from 9am to 7pm and on 17 April from 9am to 3pm.

The £110 million vision for the site announced last year included plans for a rooftop bar, multi-purpose concert hall, cinema, BMX “pump track” and indoor climbing wall.

A survey commissioned by the JDC on behalf of the government garnered more than 6,000 respondents, with around 90% reportedly satisfied with the plans.

The government stated that the project team has continued to work closely with heritage advisers, technical experts and the Planning Department “to ensure the proposals respect the site’s significance while meeting future needs”.

Infrastructure Minister Andy Jehan said: “Our work on Fort Regent has been guided by a commitment to deliver a long‑term, financially sustainable community asset.”

He continued: “The updated proposals balance heritage, leisure, culture and commercial uses in a way that will breathe new life into this strategic site.

“We look forward to presenting the plans and discussing them with Islanders.”

JDC chief executive Lee Henry described Fort Regent as “an iconic part of Jersey’s landscape”.

He said: “Islanders have been clear about the role they want it to play in our community. These proposals reflect the voices of thousands of Islanders, shaped over several years of engagement.

“I am pleased to share a vision that protects the Fort’s heritage while creating an accessible, vibrant destination for future generations.”
