THE outcome of an investigation into suspected price-fixing cartels operating in the Island’s transportation, logistics and storage sector is expected in late May or June, the Island’s competition watchdog has said.
Last July, the Jersey Competition Regulatory Authority said it was “in possession of information” which suggests that two or more businesses “have been party to an agreement which may have detrimentally effected competition in this sector”.
It launched an investigation, asking people who had concerns or “information about potential anti-competitive behaviour (whether current or historic) in this sector” to get in touch with them.
The JCRA has the power to order any anti-competitive behaviour to cease and levy fines on businesses or individuals for a breach.
