IT was a paws-itively successful start for the JSPCA’s inaugural ‘Bark Run’ over the weekend – with more than £5,000 raised to support domestic animals and wildlife in need.
150 runners – some of which dolled up in animal costumes and floppy ears – took part in the fundraising event for the Animals’ Shelter on Saturday morning, setting off from Les Quennevais Sports Centre and continuing along the Railway Walk.
Sponsored by Focused IT, it was the charity’s first major fundraising event of the year.
New President Lisa Springate described the event as a “great success”, adding: “…we look to bring it back next year bigger and better!”
