LOCAL arts groups have been invited to take the stage at the Jersey Opera House to help build their confidence performing at a major venue.
The week-long ‘Open House’ initiative running from 30 March to 4 April, aims to “remove the pressure”, by creating a “relaxed and welcoming environment”.
It will allow community groups such as choirs, dance classes, music clubs, schools and other societies to book sessions in its 650-seat auditorium.
They can register their interest and book a slot for a session on their website jerseyoperahouse.co.uk.
The public will be able to watch the sessions to discover opportunities to get involved in the arts community.
A full timetable of the sessions taking place will be published on the Opera House website nearer to the time.
Rebecca Stainer, programme manager at Jersey Opera House said: “I’m delighted to have the opportunity to pioneer this initiative.
“We know not everyone is able to host full-scale productions, so this is our way of inviting them in, to experience being on stage.”
