FLIGHTS from Jersey to the City of Love are among four new direct routes unveiled on Valentine’s Day by Loganair for this summer.

Services to Paris, Dublin, Norwich and East Midlands went on sale yesterday, as the Scottish carrier announced “a major boost to Jersey’s transport links”.

The introduction of the Jersey to Paris service also marks Loganair’s first-ever route to France.

Direct flights to Charles de Gaulle were previously being offered to Islanders by Blue Islands, before the airline went into liquidation in November.

In a statement, Loganair – which has subsequently been establishing a Jersey hub – said that the expanded network reflected its “continued commitment” to supporting the Island’s connectivity.

Ronnie Matheson, the airline’s chief commercial officer, said: “Strengthening connectivity from Jersey is hugely important to Loganair.”

He continued: “These new routes represent a meaningful step forward for the Island. By adding direct services to key UK cities, Dublin, and Paris, we’re giving customers in Jersey more choice, better access, and greater flexibility when travelling for work, leisure, or onward connections.”

Ports of Jersey chief executive Matt Thomas described the announcement as “another key milestone” as the States-owned entity seeks to “strengthen our partnership and help Loganair build their base in Jersey”.

He continued: “This further commitment enables islanders to enjoy connectivity to these popular UK and European destinations and demonstrates the appeal of our wonderful Island to visitors.”

The news comes amid an ongoing drive by the government in collaboration with Ports and Visit Jersey to bolster the Island’s air links.

Economic Development Minister Kirsten Morel said he was “delighted Loganair is growing its network this summer”, adding that he was “particularly pleased with the inclusion of services to Paris Charles de Galle”.

“Jersey’s connectivity continues to grow, providing easy access for visitors choosing Jersey as a holiday destination.”
