A NEW book club is inviting Islanders to break away from traditional reading lists by bringing along individual reading material that connects to a shared theme.

Booked!, a collaboration between Liberate Jersey and Channel Islands Humanists, invites readers of all ages to come together to share stories, ideas and conversation.

Unlike conventional book clubs, the group has no set reading list. Each meeting instead focusses on a loose theme.

The emphasis is on discussion and community, with participants invited to bring along any reading material – from novels and non-fiction to audiobooks, graphic novels or comics – related to that theme.

For those who prefer a quieter experience, a dedicated space for silent reading will also be available alongside group conversation.

The first meeting will take place on Saturday 14 February, from 10.30am to 12.00pm, with the opening theme “Love/Hate”.

Booked! will take place in Le Grand Douet Community Room, which is located in town near Charles Street Car Park.

Those interested in attending are encouraged to email kaye@liberate.je or louise.doublet@humanism.org.uk to ensure refreshments can be arranged.

Booked! is set to run throughout 2026, with new themes and conversations planned for future sessions.
