THE States police are appealing for witnesses to a car crash in St Ouen yesterday evening, in which a man sustained a serious head injury.
The force said that the 50-year-old, who remains in a critical condition, was suspected to have been heading westbound along La Route De Millais in a blue Toyota IQ when the vehicle collided with a granite wall, sustaining significant damage and flipping onto its side.
States and honorary police and the Fire and Ambulance Services attended the incident, which reportedly took place around 5.20pm on Tuesday.
The man, who was the Toyota’s sole occupant, was cut from the vehicle by the Fire Service before being taken to hospital.
In an appeal for witnesses, the States police said he sustained a “serious head injury” and “remains in a critical condition”.
“The driver’s family are aware,” the appeal continued.
“Police collision experts attended the scene to assist in determining the cause of the collision. The road was closed for about five hours and reopened just after 11pm.
“Officers are keen to speak with anyone who may have been travelling in the area before, during, or immediately after the collision, and who may have seen the vehicle involved, the collision, or anything that could assist the investigation.”
