FANS of history, embroidery, gardening or even heritage ships are being encouraged to volunteer for Jersey Heritage.

The charity, which runs sites including Jersey Museum, La Hougue Bie, and the Maritime Museum, has issued a call for volunteers to join them in 2026.

While it’s hoped some will be able to lend a helping hand to an upcoming embroidery project, others are being sought to take on roles as varied as guides and hosts to welcome visitors at their sites, as well as working behind-the-scenes on mending items, transcribing and cataloguing records, and maintaining heritage vessels or even their replica Neolithic Longhouse.

Anyone interested is asked to contact julia.coutanche@jerseyheritage.org or visit jerseyheritage.org/support/volunteer.
