FROM dogs hunkered down away from rattling windows to cats seeking out the safest corners of the house, Islanders have shared how their four-legged family members fared the storm last night.
Jo Castro said: “We are all sleeping in the living room including our cats. Don’t want to risk anything breaking through the windows on the first floor.”
Fiona Subasinghe said that her cat Suki was “petrified” and spent the evening “hidden”, but furry sibling Sacha “slept through the storm”.

Collette Le Voguer added: “My two [pets] are very unsettled, the noise of the wind where I am sounds like a freight train and thunder at the same time.”
Deborah Taylor said that her nine-month-old puppy Rosie “went out very reluctantly for her pre-bedtime pee”.
At around 11.30pm, she added: “The wind is so loud up here in Trinity so no sleep anytime soon. The garden furniture has moved several metres.”
Owen Lewis said his cat Marius was wondering “Storm? What storm?” as he slept straight though it.

And five-month-old miniature Jack Russell puppy Ruhi, who may be recognised by some Islanders from her work on Lomah Farm, spent much of the evening with her face hidden under her paws.
Owner Laura Bailey said: “I was impressed with how well she handled her first ever storm. She was a little anxious, but there was no crying and she slept soundly.”
