A NEW charity comedy challenge is being launched inviting would-be stand-ups to swap the office for the stage in aid of Jersey Employment Trust.

White Collar Comedy Jersey will see eight Islanders – all complete beginners – take part in an eight-week training programme designed to turn them into confident performers.

The participants will receive comedy coaching, confidence-building sessions, mentoring and guidance on stage presence, before putting their new skills to the test in a live show at The Sundown on Wednesday 1 April 2026.

Each performer will deliver a five-to-ten minute routine, alongside a celebrity headline comedian, who is yet to be announced.

The event is being organised as a fundraiser for Jersey Employment Trust, which supports people with disabilities and long-term health conditions into work.

Organiser and JET ambassador Kiley Henley said the challenge was about getting people to step outside comfort zones.

“This event is all about pushing yourself, having fun and doing something completely different for a brilliant cause,” she said.

“You do not need any comedy experience, just a willingness to give it a go and laugh along the way.”

Online applications to take part close on 7 January 2026, with in-person applications open until 14 January. Training will begin on 4 February.

The organisers are also keen to hear from sponsors interested in supporting the event.
