A man had to be taken to the Emergency Department after being assaulted during an alleged road-rage incident on a busy St Helier road on Christmas Eve, according to the States of Jersey Police.

Police said the incident happened at around 6.30pm on Wednesday 24 December on Trinity Road, on the bend outside the Prime Fry chip shop.

In a statement, officers said: “The vehicles involved was a white van and Black Peugeot 208. During the incident one of the involved parties exited the white van and assaulted the driver of the Peugeot by a kick and punches, before driving off. 

“The victim attended A&E and scans did not reveal any fractures or other serious injury.”

They are now appealing for witnesses or anyone with relevant footage to come forward.

Officers are particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have been in the area at the time, or who has CCTV or dash-cam footage covering Trinity Road near the Prime Fry premises shortly before or after the incident.

The incident is being investigated under reference number M09706/2025.
