On Friday night, Blue Islands announced that it was suspending its operations with immediate effect – Loganair and Aurigny have stepped in to support air connectivity.

Since then, details of the company’s precarious financial situation, the volume of taxpayer funding given to the ailing airline and its debts have steadily emerged as scrutiny over who knew what – and when – builds.
