THE Island’s weather was slightly warmer and drier than average last month, latest figures from Jersey Met have revealed.
October data showed that across the month, after a peak reading of exactly 20°C on the first day of the month, the average temperature was 14.1°C, 0.4°C above the 30-year average.
The monthly rainfall, measured at Maison St Louis in St Helier, was 93.4mm, 13mm below the average mark, but it was almost 50% wetter in the north of the Island: Howard Davis Farm in Trinity had 138.3mm across the month, 21mm above average for that location.
Jersey Met also measures the amount of sunshine, with 144.6 hours recorded across October – a daily average of around four hours and 40 minutes, about 21 minutes more than the average for an October day.
