DO you live around Plat Douet Road and have noticed some toys going missing?
A light-fingered – or pawed – feline might be to blame.
Beans, a two-year-old cat who lives in Grasett Park in St Saviour, has developed a reputation for stealing toys from homes in his neighbourhood… both from other pets, and even children.
His owner, Rachel Greenaway, said the nightly thefts have now become so frequent that she’s had to resort to leaving the items in a communal box by her home so that the original owners can retrieve their belongings.
“[Beans] announces in the middle of the night when he brings something back and wakes me up,” she told the JEP.

She explained that Beans brings home objects “most nights” – and some she is able to return straight away as they are “repeat offends”.
Any unfamiliar items are left in the communal box to await their rightful owners.
However, recently, she was even forced to take to social media in a bid to identify Beans’ victims and return his ill-gotten gains.
The posts received hundreds of reactions from amused Islanders.
“I have [bought] people chocolate to say sorry for taking it in good humour,” she added, “But everyone just seems to love the story.”
