A MEMORIAL concert is being staged in Howard Davis Park this week to honour those who served in the RAF during the Second World War.
La Ronde Concert Band, a 30-strong community group that regularly performs at Island events, will lead the programme tomorrow evening.
The park is home to the Jersey War Graves Cemetery, which contains the graves of Allied servicemen who died during the Occupation.
Charlotte Cooper, the band’s conductor, said: “I am delighted that La Ronde Concert Band of Jersey is playing at this time of remembrance, which is so special to us all.”
The concert programme will include The Dam Busters March, the RAF March Past, Elgar’s Nimrod and John Williams’ Hymn to the Fallen, as well as wartime songs for the audience to join in.
Proceeds will support the Jersey branch of the Royal Air Forces Association.
