SAMMY Henia-Kamau has joined Hull City on a one-year-deal from Swansea City A.F.C following a successful trial period at the club.
The 19-year-old has linked up with the Under-21s and has been making his mark since July.
Henia-Kamau featured as an unnamed trialist for the Tigers in a number of fixtures, the winger netted his first City goal with an incredible free-kick against Grimsby Borough in pre-season.
After joining Swansea City in 2023, Henia-Kamau signed a professional contract in 2024 with the Welsh side.
Following an exclusive interview with the young prospect, Henia-Kamau expressed his gratitude to the professional clubs that have taken him on board: “I feel grateful that I got spotted and now being able to showcase my qualities on a bigger stage.”
“I’m grateful for the people that helped my gain my opportunity, from coaches back home, friends, family, and old teammates.”

After breaking into the Jersey Bulls first team and becoming the youngest player to net a hat-trick for the first team, his quality was evident.
Henia-Kamau discussed how local football helped mould him into the player he is today: “I take the hardworking philosophy that I learnt back home, since I was young and played with freedom, I was able to express myself on the pitch.”
Having been in the Hull City fold for a few months now, Henia-Kamau is looking to the future: “I want to keep training hard and playing as much as possible, whilst still enjoying my football.”
“Of course, first team football is something I aspire to achieve in the near future.”

The goalscorer offered his advice for aspiring footballers in Jersey, and with the plethora of talent amongst the island football community, and role models like Henia-Kamau, the professional dream is certainly becoming more possible.
“My advice to aspiring players in Jersey would be to train as much as you can, whether that be with teams or individually.
“You should also have realistic short and long term goals, and most importantly keep believing because players in Jersey have been getting recognised recently, so it is a good time to be an aspiring footballer in Jersey.”
