Couple thanks Air Display organisers for surprise gift

A COUPLE from the UK who will this year attend their tenth Jersey International Air Display have thanked organisers for gifting them VIP passes after they were unable to take part in a local giveaway.

Susan Day and her husband Martin said they were “really pleased and excited” to have been given backstage access to the static display, which includes the opportunity to speak to some of the pilots.

Mrs Day told the JEP that this year will be the tenth Jersey International Air Display they have attended.

The couple, from West Yorkshire, had initially tried to take part in the Display’s 2025 giveaway, which is open until the end of this month (see information below) but discovered that only Island residents can enter.

“I just put a little message on Facebook saying that I would love to have entered, but I’m not a resident of Jersey – but that we would still look forward to coming to see the air show and visiting your lovely Island like we do every year,” Mrs Day explained.

Organisers spotted her message and decided to gift the couple VIP passes.

“I thought it was very nice,” Mrs Day said.

“We’re really pleased and excited.”

She said that Islanders interested in the giveaway should “definitely” enter it, describing the available prizes as “fantastic”.
