A JERSEY-born actor will appear in a new Guernsey-made short film heading for the international festival circuit.
James Howard, known for starring as Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter and the Cursed Child stage show, will take on the role of Rector John Petit in the folklore-inspired Albert.
The 17th-century folktale centres on a mysterious book called Le Petit Albert and follows the story of the wizard Sarre during the height of the Island’s witch trials.
The film was written and directed by Guernsey-born Joshua Fletcher and has been supported by Guernsey Arts, Ivy Gate Films, Visit Guernsey, Condor Ferries, Pandora Hotel, Guernsey Museums, and the Guernsey Folk Museum.
Festival submissions are underway, with Guernsey and UK premiere dates expected to be announced alongside the release of the official trailer later this year.
