The Battle of Flowers will be moving from its usual Esplanade route for 2025.

THE Battle of Flowers will have plenty of the usual magic Islanders have come to expect as it takes on a new route through the streets of St Helier this weekend.

As well as nineteen flowered floats, several entertainers, local dance troupes, musicians and costumed performers will make their way through the parish for the annual floral event.

With the weather looking promising, Islanders will be able to watch the festivities for free at several viewing points around the parade route – which differs from the usual Victoria Avenue this year in what is a “stripped-back” event following the financial fallout and eventual reformation of the Battle of Flowers Association.

Tomorrow, the Day Parade will set off on a circular route from the float compound at the Esplanade, down Route de la Liberation, then into Conway Street, through York Street and into the Parade before heading down Gloucester Street.

There is no ticketing or grandstand seating, so organisers have urged those seeking to attend to secure their preferred viewing spot early.

Floats and street entertainment will start just before 1pm with the event set to last until 3pm.

The Evening Parade takes place on Saturday on the same route from 7.30 pm to 9 pm with illuminated floats.

A firework finale will then take place around Liberation Square and the Weighbridge between approximately 9.30pm to 10pm.
