ASPIRING States Members have been warned that they should start canvassing for support early ahead of the 2026 election.
The Vote.je team, which helps with the running of Jersey’s elections and is currently running a ‘Plan to Stand’ campaign, issued the advice as they confirmed key dates for next year.
The nomination period will begin on Monday 20 April, running until Wednesday 22 at 5pm.
All candidates will have to submit a completed nomination form with the written support of ten people who are registered to vote in their constituency.
This form needs to be submitted to the Jersey Electoral Authority before the nomination period ends.
The full list of candidates will then be announced on Monday 27 April.
The election of all 49 States Members will take place on Sunday 7 June.
On Friday 19th, the new States Assembly will meet for the first time and elect a Chief Minister Designate.
