A SUPPORT group to help parents facing the emotional journey of pregnancy after the loss of a baby has been launched by a Jersey charity.

Philip’s Footprints said the group aims to provide a safe and non-judgmental space for parents to talk openly about the challenges of expecting a baby after a previous loss.

The sessions are led by a midwife and charity trustee Rachna Stear, and supported by trained bereavement volunteers.

Ms Stear, who has personal experience of pregnancy after loss, said: “I know first-hand the unique mix of hope, fear and grief that comes with pregnancy after a loss and I am passionate about creating a safe and supportive space so others don’t have to
go through this alone.

Our support group helps parents feel less alone, offering a place to talk openly and find
comfort among others who truly ‘get it’. Sometimes, just knowing you are not the only one
feeling this way can make a huge difference.”

Philip’s Footprints was founded to support families after the loss of a baby or child. It also funds antenatal equipment, education and professional training.
