VISITOR numbers to the Island fell by around a quarter in May compared to last year.

There were 53,300 visits to Jersey in May this year which was a fall of 17,300 – equating to just under 25% – compared to the same month in 2024, according to newly-released statistics from Visit Jersey.

The number of bed nights – a key performance metric for the tourism industry on bed occupancy – also fell by 29,600 to 211,300.

The average length of stay was up from an average of four to 4.6 nights.

Visitor numbers up to May 2025 were 14% lower than in 2024, falling by 23,600 to 149,100.

And the number of bed nights for the year so far was 10% down on 2024, falling by 63,800 to 560,600.
