ON one of the hottest days of the year so far, the 12-year-old winner of an ice cream competition was indoors at one of Jersey Dairy’s production sites to oversee the making of the first-ever batch of his creation.
Will Deighton won a competition organised by the Channel Islands Co-op and Jersey Dairy with his flavour ‘Peachy Beachy’ – peaches and cream with peach pieces.

Last Friday, Will was invited to tour Jersey Dairy’s production facility in Trinity and see the first batch of ‘Peachy Beachy’ come off the production line.
After Will submitted his idea long before the summer, it was selected by a jury and then won a public vote.
The competition was held in aid of Les Amis, a charity that supports adult Islanders with learning disabilities. They are celebrating their 50th anniversary this year.
