Investigation after death of motorist on coast road

A POLICE investigation is underway following the death of a motorist in St Clement yesterday morning.

A 500-metre section of Grande Route de La Cote between Petite Sente and Rue De La Lourderie was closed for several hours after an incident in which a car hit a wall.

States of Jersey Police has confirmed that the male driver was later pronounced dead, while the passenger in the car – the driver’s wife – received only minor injuries, and that no other vehicles were involved.

A SoJP spokesperson added: “We are working to support the family of those involved, and the investigation into what happened is ongoing.”
