POLICE are appealing for information after a “racially aggravated assault” allegedly took place outside La Fregate earlier this month.
The incident took place on Friday 2 May at around 11pm at Jardins de la Mer on the Esplanade.
The force confirmed it is being treated as a “racially aggravated assault”.
In an appeal for information, police said: “A group of approximately 10–12 youths who were in the area walked past a table of people who were sat outside La Fregate.
“Some comments regarding race were made and traffic cones were thrown at the table by the youths.
“The youths then proceeded to assault members of the table.”
The force said that many people were in the area at the time.
Officers would like to speak with anyone who witnessed this incident, or who can identify those involved.
