THE States police is appealing for information after a man allegedly assaulted a child in town on Easter Monday.
Police said the incident occurred on Monday 21 April outside the front of Sure telecoms shop.
The adult male allegedly assaulted the female child a second time in the middle of the high street outside the old Clintons shop.
The man also shouted at the child during the incident, according to the police.
In an appeal for information, the force said: “The description of the adult male is tanned skin, dark hair and short beard, grey long-sleeved jumper, dark-coloured jeans and black trainers.
“He was with a female child of about six [years old], wearing a white top with dark hair in a ponytail.
“They were with a female wearing a long-sleeved yellow top with a gilet over the top wearing a headscarf/headcovering, with a younger female child pushing a pram.”
