A NEW chief executive has been appointed at the JSPCA.

Pam Aubert, head of Jersey Cancer Relief, will join the animal protection charity next month.

Ms Aubert takes over from interim chief executive Tom Noel, who has been in the position for six months.

The new chief executive said she planned to use her experience in the charitable sector – Ms Aubert has also held senior roles at Macmillan Cancer Support Jersey – to “create a resilient future” for the animal charity.

Commenting on her new role, Ms Aubert said she was “privileged” to be taking on the position and to work alongside a “dedicated team”.

“Together, we will reconnect with our community, provide a voice for the animals in our care and create a sustainable and resilient future for the JSPCA,” she added.

Mr Noel said the charity would “continue to grow and thrive under Pam’s leadership”. He said he hopes to continue supporting the charity by standing for in its committee elections in May.

“This isn’t the end of my journey with the JSPCA; it’s just the beginning,” he added.

Ben Shenton, president of the charity, said the JSPCA was in a “critical phase of change” and Ms Aubert would be “leading from the front”.

Ms Aubert will officially become chief executive on 12 May.
