DIRECT flights from Jersey to Tenerife will continue to take off this coming winter, a travel firm has confirmed.
FlyDirect said the route to the Canary island will continue for the 2025-26 winter season following a “successful” year.
The flights, which are now on sale, will run every Saturday from October half-term until 8 November.
Additional departures will be available at Christmas, New Year and again from February half-term until Easter, with a total of 14 scheduled flights.
FlyDirect’s parent company, C. I. Travel Group, has been operating direct flights to the Canary Islands for ten years and expects “strong demand” again.
The firm’s managing director Robert Mackenzie said: “In 2025 we are celebrating a decade of operating direct flights from Jersey to the Canary Islands, with over 12,500 Islanders having experienced the joy of flying direct for a winter sun holiday.
“With flights operating on Saturdays this winter, we hope even more Islanders will be able to take advantage of the service.”
Ports of Jersey chief operating officer Stephen King said he was “excited” by the announcement.
He said: “I am sure that Islanders will value this expanded service, as it provides additional opportunities for holidays in Tenerife without the need for a connecting flight.”
The flights will be operated by Smartwings using Boeing 737-800 aircraft, with a flight time of around four hours.
