A 51-YEAR-OLD man has been sentenced to 13 years in prison after raping a woman multiple times.
Jose Rodrigues Camacho was found guilty of six counts of rape and one indecent assault following a seven-day trial at the Royal Court at the end of November last year.
The offences were reported to the States police in April 2023, when the victim disclosed a number of sexual assaults which took place over two decades. Camacho was arrested that month and later released on police bail.
Camacho was charged in February 2024 and appeared in the Magistrate’s Court shortly after.
Camacho was sentenced in the Royal Court on Friday.
Detective Constable Carla Garnier, the officer in charge of the case, said:

“We work with our partner agencies to support the victims of these crimes and seek to bring perpetrators to justice.”
