A SHOP assistant has admitted stealing more than £1,000 worth of goods from the supermarket where she worked for five months.

The Magistrate’s Court heard that 59-year-old Kate Silva De Gouveia stole the goods from the Morrisons Daily store in Gorey, where she was employed from March to August last year.

Relief Magistrate Peter Harris adjourned sentencing to allow time for a pre-sentence report and released De Gouveia on bail until 2 May.
