A MOTORIST who drove while more than twice the drink-drive limit has been banned from the roads for 20 months.

Jonathan Kevin Patrick Murphy (47) was also ordered to carry out 70 hours of community service.

The Magistrate’s Court heard that he had driven along Route Orange in St Brelade on 3 March.

A breath test at police headquarters showed he had 75 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood – more than double the legal maximum of 35 micrograms.

Murphy was also ordered to retake the driving test after the end of the ban.
