“URGENT” gas works are taking place in town leading to the closure of a stretch of Colomberie.
Island Energy engineers are carrying out essential works on Hill Street and Colomberie, with Colomberie closed from Grenville Street to Halkett Place.
The works form part of the gas company’s mains replacement project. The road is expected to be closed for around ten days.
The taxi rank at Snow Hill will be suspended and there will be an impact on bus routes. For more information, go to the LibertyBus website.
In a statement, Island Energy said: “We’d like to apologise for any inconvenience and thank everyone for their patience while our team works on the site.”
The Parish of St Helier said: “Please be advised of urgent gas works taking place at Colomberie from Thursday.
“While there are not parish-owned roads affected, we are working closely with Infrastructure and Environment and Island Energy to communicate updates and support.
“We understand that there are significant disruptions in St Helier currently and thank you for your continued patience.”
