A PRO-PALESTINE activist has appeared in court charged with offences under the Island’s terrorism law.
Natalie Strecker, who describes herself as a human rights campaigner and has been involved with the Jersey Palestine Solidarity Campaign, has been charged with two offences under Article 13(1) of the Terrorism (Jersey) Law 2002.
Legal adviser Harrison Gollop, prosecution, told the court that Ms Strecker posted material “inviting support for proscribed organisations” on X [formerly Twitter], breaching Jersey terrorism laws.
She is alleged to have tweeted in support of Hamas and Hezbollah – both classified as “proscribed organisations” in the Island.
Magistrate Bridget Shaw decided that the case should be heard by the Royal Court and released Ms Strecker on bail to appear there for indictment on 4 April.
