A MOTORIST has admitted speeding along Mont Millais – but said it only happened because she was looking for her water bottle and got distracted.
Appearing in the Magistrate’s Court, 44-year-old Jade Sian Kelso admitted driving her white BMW at 54mph in an area with a 30mph limit on the morning of 8 November last year.
She told the court that her water bottle had fallen to the floor of her car, and in reaching for it she had inadvertently pressed her foot down on the accelerator.
She said: “I should have pulled over and stopped. It was a great error of judgment. I can only apologise.”
Relief Magistrate Peter Harris banned Kelso from driving for a month and fined her £360.
