THE scale of the damage at La Coupée, which connects Big Sark and Little Sark, was revealed this week.

Reporter Luke Webb, from the JEP’s sister publication Bailiwick Express Guernsey, visited the island where engineers from Jersey and Guernsey are working to repair the road after it was damaged by a rockfall.

The government in Sark warned that the road was expected to be closed to “all but the most essential vehicle traffic” while repair work takes place, and that weight should be kept to an “absolute minimum”.

Workers include staff from Geomarine in Jersey and Guernsey and a five-man team of rope access specialists who are using reinforced concrete and anchor pins to fix the damage.
