FIVE charities have received almost £15,000 in the latest round of Ports of Jersey grant funding.

Healing Waves, Music in Action, Project Linus, Caring Cooks and the Oxygen Therapy Centre were all given money from the organisation’s Community Boost initiative.

The scheme has allocated a total of £34,422 to ten charitable organisations since it was launched last April.

Ports’ head of sustainability and community value Sophie Alexander said: “We are pleased that Community Boost has been so successful in its first year and we are proud to support a variety of charities and some really impactful projects.”

The next funding round takes place this spring, focusing on digital innovation projects, with applications closing at the end of February.

Ms Alexander said: “We have made sure that the application process is as easy as possible, and we look forward to receiving many more applications for 2025.”

The co-founder and executive director of Healing Waves, Max Wiltshire, said: “This is absolutely wonderful news and we are thrilled to have such amazing support from Ports of Jersey.”

Caring Cooks chief executive Yvonne Corbin said: “We are incredibly grateful to Ports of Jersey.”

She added: “Their generosity will help us ensure that children and families in need have access to vital meals during the school holidays, making a real difference in our community.”
