PART of Green Street was closed on Thursday afternoon as teams from Jersey Water dealt with two burst water mains.
Islanders were asked to avoid the area and warned of delays.
The road was closed from Havre des Pas to the roundabout in both directions for repairs. Green Street car park remained open.
In an statement, Jersey Water said: “Access to properties will be maintained at all times.
“We ask that you avoid the area if you can, as there will be delays.
“As always, we will do all we can to finish the work as quickly as possible.
“Thanks for your patience. We will share updates and advise when the works are complete.”
