THE Royal Court building is to hear two high-profile cases this week.

Dylan Pounds (29) is standing trial charged with causing the deaths of Dean Lowe (48) and his 11-year-old son, Charlie, by dangerous driving. He denies the charge.

The pair were hit by a vehicle on Rue de Fauvic, in Grouville, last summer.

A fund was launched in memory of the father and son. The Jersey Community Foundation is managing the Lowe’s Legacy Fund with the aim of “having a positive impact in the Island for performing arts”, one of Dean and Charlie’s “passions in life”.

Meanwhile, two paramedics are to “fight” their convictions in court today.

Tom Le Sauteur (36) and John Sutherland (60) will appear before the Appeal Court to try to overturn a two-year conditional discharge which they were each handed after being found guilty of failing to provide “reasonable care” to a man who later died.
