A MOTORIST who drove his silver Audi at more than double the speed limit has been fined £400 and banned from driving for four weeks.
Asher-Cyril Marshall-Purves drove along La Rousseau at 35mph on the afternoon of 28 August – breaking a speed limit of 15mph.
The 34-year-old told the Magistrate’s Court: “I’m really sorry for my action. I am extremely annoyed with myself.”
Marshall-Purves said he relied on his car to occasionally carry out deliveries, but Assistant Magistrate Adam Clarke said that people guilty of motoring offences always complained that losing their licence would inconvenience them.
He told him: “The court is growing tired of dealing with people who drive too fast.”
