A “RECORD” 11,000 tins and other foodstuffs were donated to this year’s Shelter Trust Tinathon, the charity has announced.
Lead organiser Richard Robins said he wanted to thank the public for their generosity following the event on Friday.
He said: “We wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who took time to donate, help on the day, entertain us and raise awareness of homelessness in Jersey.”
Mr Robins added: “We are delighted to say we collected an amazing 11,000 tins and food items, which is a record for the Tinathon.”
Tins can still be donated throughout October at the Coop Grand Marché in St Helier and £1 “e-tins” can still be purchased online at justgiving.com/shelter-jersey.
