JERSEY Fire and Rescue has been busy responding to flooding-related calls in the north of the Island this evening amid poor weather conditions – with one property also “struck by lightning”.
The update follows a yellow thunderstorm warning issued by Jersey Met this afternoon, while the States police has also had “several reports of localised flooding” and “hazardous driving conditions”.
In a social media post earlier this evening, Jersey Fire and Rescue advised Islanders that it was “currently dealing with multiple flooding calls in the north of the Island” due to the heavy rainfall, “with one property struck by lightning”.
“Please take care if driving in this area as road conditions may be difficult and our crews could be working near the roads,” the post continued.
