FIREFIGHTERS were called to a St Saviour home to put out a blaze on Tuesday afternoon.

The fire and rescue service said “thankfully” the damage was limited due to the owner closing the door between the source of the fire and the main house and quickly calling 999.

“They were alerted by working smoke alarms,” the authorities said.

Two fire engines attended the incident and “quickly extinguished” the fire.
