JERSEY could see flash flooding this weekend, with “heavy and persistent” rain forecast, according to Jersey Met.
Most of the rain is expected to fall in the night between Saturday and Sunday, with some heavy bursts from early afternoon on Saturday, they said.
They added that the exact location of the worst weather is unclear, but that they expect it to be near or above the Channel Islands.
The Government has taken some precautions, such as clearing drains, and pointed Islanders towards official advice on preparing for floods at https://www.gov.je/stayingsafe/homepersonal/keepinghomesafe/pages/flooding.aspx.
These steps include making sure you know how to turn off gas, electricity and water, as well as getting flood protection products like sandbags.
