JERSEY’S largest music festival kicks off today at a new location…

The two-day Weekender event is due to throw open its doors at 2pm today and having been staged at the Royal Jersey Showground in Trinity almost every year since being founded as Jersey Live in 2004, this year’s event will be held at the People’s Park.

Today’s line-up includes Sister Sledge on stage at 4.30pm, The Darkness at 8.25pm and headliners Texas at 9.45pm, while tomorrow’s schedule features an afternoon set by The Zutons at 4.15pm and the finale by Tom Grennan at 9.15pm.

Organisers have urged those attending to arrive in good time, with no admission to the site after 6pm on either day, and to check weekender.je/information for details on what items are permitted and prohibited.

The latest weather forecast yesterday afternoon predicted bright or sunny periods this afternoon with a small chance of showers and a maximum temperature of 22°C.

The forecast for tomorrow was a degree warmer, with sunny periods during the afternoon but showers likely after sunset at 7.50pm.
